A tale of porridge and puzzles! 

Who are we and what do we think we are doing?

I'm Daniel (photos to scare and amuse will follow), I'm a Children's Book Illustrator. My wife is Heidi, a story writer and a wealth of inspiration.

After a visit to the Bologna Book Fair this year and a chance encounter with two very good friends, we ended up with this suggestion that we should open a Children's Book Shop. Now, at the time we thought it was a daft idea and one that was just not suited for us but by the time we had set foot on back British soil we were beginning to realise that it was best idea anyone had ever had (and it will always remain yours Dave!).

The pros seemed to totally out number the cons. It would be a great enviroment for me to carry on my illustration and for my wife to be inspired with new stories. It would also be a great enviroment for children and their parents...a place to come and look at new books and spend time with other children. Not stuck inside some stuffy 'grown-up' book store. Walls would be covered with artwork, the floor would be covered with books and mums and dads would be refreshed with coffee and cakes.

Well, we're going to make the 'woulds' into 'wills'. We are currently looking for suitable premises within the centre of Exeter, a place ideal for both children and parents, a place of safety and enjoyment. We are going to have guest artists visit, run art and writing workshops and generally make sure its the best book stop in the whole of Exeter.
